    Eating backwards?
Well my little girl got her first feed tonight since ive owned her (got her tuesday) took her about 30 seconds to come to it (gave her F/T) 30 seconds to look and strike and about 4 minutes to down it. Im very glad she took it so well.

When she took it, she downed it tail first. is that a big issue? i didnt want to intervene and try to spin it and risk stressing her and cause her to not take it. did I handle that properly or should i have done something different?

No it's not bad at all, it all goes to the same place lol. I have a few that notoriously eat backwards for whatever reason, it happens, don't worry ;)

Feeding is often people favorite part of owning snakes. I couldn't imagine eating something whole without any arms or legs, I think it's really cool how they are able to do it. Congrats on your new snake btw :gj:

Haha yea i think that would be awkward but they make it work! and id have to say handling and has been my favorite part, not gonna lie i grew up with guinea pigs so I kinda like little rodents so im not a HUGE fan of feeding them to her, but i understand its apart of life lol.

but thank you :] im so excited, ive got a little shadow right now because i finally told my 7 year old sister about her because i didnt want her to stress the snake out, but my sister is in love with her! shes been following me around alllllll day asking a million questions. its kind of funny the females in my house like the snake more then the males.

I like rodents too, I feed f/t so it's not too bad for me since they are already dead by the time I get them. I had to feed live to one of my babies, after much trial and error she realized she only wanted live hopper mice. I attempted a live rat fuzzie, he survived the night in the tub with her, I didn't have the heart to kill him so I bottle fed him and raised him up, now he's my pet. I love him so much that I felt bad he was home alone while I was at work so I saved another feeder rat and now he has a friend. I'm suck a sucker. I feed live if I have to, but I don't enjoy it.

Haha aww, thats cool though. yea people say just whack them on the wall or something. Im a wimp about that stuff hahaha. My friend had a big pet rat once named Socrates, he was awesome! kinda made me want one. i have a bad habit of naming things so if i tried live id probably name the rodent before gettin home from the pet store! haha

The guy I bought Lucky from told me if she didn't eat him then just freeze him alive in the freezer. That, obviously, was out of the question lol. I've fed live hopper mice to her before she finally took a scented f/t rat pup...I feel so horrible. They look up at me when I open the container as if to say "there is a god!!"...then POW....they're eaten :( lol
