Insane 32 Rat pinkies 1 Litter
This female is 8 months old and consistently gives me 15-18 every 3 weeks. This time gave me 32. So far only one has died but will be taking some to give to other females. She has a female that is lactating in there still but 15 per female is still a lot.

Yea i thought getting 15-18 was big..

I hope that you're going to save a few of those females babies for replacement breeders. It would be nice if the mom passed on some of her abilities to her daughters.

I think its mostly the Male. My rat rack has 6 males and 25 females all dropping 8-18 pinks. I think the genetics are coming from the Rex Gene of the male. When ever a Tub that has a rex female or male the litters are huge.

Number of eggs produced is determined by female genetics. Unless you have a bunch of identical twins or triplets your big litter is due to the genetics of the female (i.e., the male sperm does not stimulate more eggs to come out of the ovaries).

Maybe not. The male might have great genetics, but the number of ova a female rat releases in a cycle is determined by her body, not the male's. The number of ova released and how many implant without being reasorbed are mostly what determines the # of babies. A female that releases a huge # of eggs at one time is creating the potential for a huge litter.
