I am just thinking of building a similar one out of wood. Right now I have glass version being made, hope it turns out well. 4 cabinets only though.

Yeah I guess they don't ship over seas and I suppose shipping would be expensive. I suppose you know those come in units that stack if it was possible to get a piece at a time. Love the Boaphile stuff...

when it comes to racks im an animal plastics man all the way. i like boaphile though if your going to have a display setup. if i had the space to have a display setup then that rack would so be put up in the living room....
ive been contemplating getting a pair of either amazon tree boas or green tree pythons. the one twin condo for arboreal snakes fits the bill perfectly.

yeah ive seen these there beautiful. Looks simple to reproduce though.

Id use some black laminate board so it wouldnt be hard to clean and you wouldnt have to worry about rot or deteriation.

That'd be a royal pain to clean on a regular basis...

I'm looking into boaphile and you sparked a question. Do these cages rot or deteriorate?

Also, for an adult ball python, would 24" L x 24" D x 11.5" H be considered too small or just about right?

The boaphile cages are plastic. The plastic that is used now is alot stronger than what was used in the past. It will not crack with age and the color will not fade. Since plastic is oil based there is not risk of rot.

Building one out of wood has the risk of rotting. Depeneding on the humidity it will either be sooner or longer. Im in south florida and with the high humididty if wood does not have some sort of sealer on it, it doesnt last too long. Expecially with misting snake inclosures that water is gonna absorb into the wood and they breaks it down.

I do alot of carpentry and have built fishtanks out of wood. If you like the look of natural wood go with it just make sure you find a sealer that is non toxic so it doesnt harm ur snakes.

That's what I was thinking but I haven't ever used a PVC/plastic cage for long term keeping and in addition to the previous poster's comment it made me wonder. I am looking into getting these for 2 GTP, 4 Balls, and possibly some crested geckos.

These would make some beautiful display cages in my opinion and add the fact that they are stack-able and it makes for a great place to show off some beautiful animals!

I wonder if there is anyway to seal wood so they wont rot when they get wet. Another way would be to line it with Glass, but that would just make everything more expensive wont it?

Another alternative form where I am is fiber glass, will try to ask around.
