It's called sleep paralysis. Just relax when it it happens, concentrate hard, and you'll be able to wake yourself up.

Yes, its the psychology of it all. It's only happening so much because you're thinking about it. Take a Tylenol and do some stretches before bed. I guarantee you'll sleep through the night, no problems.

I hate when those dreams happen LOL.

Just like the first poster said when this happens, just relax. When you try to panic and get out of the dream it really won't work LOL. When this happens to me, all I really do is relax and let it pass, then wake up.

Plus thinking about it before you go to bed will only make it happen again. So when you go to sleep, try not to focus your mind on that happening again. Think about Ball pythons if that makes ya happy :D.

its common and its because your brain is between sleep and waking when you sleep your brain releases a chemical that essentially paralyzes you so you don't act your dreams when you hit this state you are still kind of dreaming so you can't move are conscious and having sometimes both auditory and visual hallucinations.. just try wake up move a finger or toe and it will snap out .. it is distressing and scary but thats all it is

Yup, this is true. When you are in REM (during the time you actually dream), your body is paralyzed. Have you ever woke up and thought your dream actually happened or had the thoughts and memories vividly linger for a little bit? That is probably happening to you while you are in the paralysis part. The whispering and stuff is probably the dream partially continuing as your body hasn't realized you have woken up yet.

I have had this happen several times. It is quite scary. :O When it happens I do what has been advised, relax and concentrate on waking myself.
