    Mice as food and cranberries
Just a quick question but maybe a little strange.

I have to feed my only bp live, so today i go down to my local shop and buy a nice large mouse for him. Today the man from the shop gave me two large mice for the price of one (for some unknown reason) any way i gladly accepted and put the mouse in a small tank i have when i got at home. I put some food (grain and dried cranberries) in there as he will be in there for two or three days and didnt want him to starve.

I didnt think any thing about it, but my girlfreind raised the point about the cranberries. I know snakes can digest a hell of alot and more, but would anyone see a probloem with a mouse who has eaten cranberries (he has already eaten most of them)

I was thinking excess acid, possible toxins?

I know this maybe a strange question but just thought i would ask.

    Thanks

    Matt

I can't imagine it would hurt your snake. Goodness knows mice and rats will eat anything, including each other, so I'm pretty sure your ball can handle anything that mouse has eaten.

If you want a real scare, I'll tell you what happened to me a while back. I got some live feeder mice, and I offered the biggest one to my prize female. I didn't notice until she was in the process of swallowing that the mouse had a golf ball sized tumor on it's belly! I came here in panic, and was told to just relax.

That was 6 months ago, and that female is just fine. Although I don't make a habit of feeding mice with tumors, I don't have to freak out if it accidentally happens again. So I'm going to say cranberries are not a biggie.

the pet shop where I get feeders from has a rat that someone purchased as a feeder and kept it as a pet, and it is not the BIGGESt rat I have ever seen. I'm half tempted to do this all the time haha. have fun with your new pet!
