What size to feed?

Yesterday we picked up a baby spider from an expo. The seller said she was 6 weeks old. I ask him what were they feeding her and he told me adult mice. I'm not sure about that. My Mojave and Normal have been eating hoppers and just starting them on weanlings. Also is there a thread with the different mice, rat sizes? I know you go by the girth size of the bellies but there are so many different mice and rat sizes :rolleye2:

BP move through sizes especially from hopper to adult not seeing the animal or having an idea of it's size simply remember to feed something equal to it's girth size.

As far as rat sizes I start my hatchlings on rat crawler/fuzzy, than it's pup, weanling, small and medium (I never feed anything larger)

Do not mean to thread jack,but at what weigh and length does the Bp have to be to eat small mice, is 232g's big enough?

Try to feed your ball pythons the something the same size as the girth or 25% bigger,or something a little less then half his weight! I know this was not much help but i did not want to seem useless.

Thanks guys! I need scales I know. I didn't measure her we had such a long drive home I just wanted to get her settled.

Same rule applies no matter what size ball python,Feed something the same width(girth) of the Bp.

You will want to weigh you BP and feed him around 10-15% of his body weight around every 5 to 7 days. http://www.rodentpro.com/products.asp Is a good place to get accurate measurements of feeders.

Small Rats normally start in size at around 48-50g. Applying the 10%-15% snake weight/prey weight formula, your snake should be somewhere between 350-400grams empty, before feeding small rats.
