    about killer Bee
    HI!
    anybody can teach me how to calculate the genetic of killer bee ,i m very confuse about it !

    for bumble bee X super pastel we got the gen

    P2S (P2--pastel) (S--- spider) ----bumble bee

    P2P2 (P2--pastel)(P2--pastel) ---- super pastel

    so bumble bee X super pastel

    P2S X P2P2

    1)P2P2 super pastel
    2)P2P2 super pastel
    3)P2S bumble bee
    4)P2S bumble bee

    so how come we will got killer bee ???
    what is the killer bee's gens???

    thank you very much to everybody ,please teach me in simple graph form !

    You did your computation wrong.

    Here are the possible outcomes:

    1/4 pastel
    1/4 bumblebee
    1/4 super pastel
    1/4 killerbee

    this is MY way - some may agree, some not...

    bee x super pastel =

    ...... N.... P.... S... PS
    P..... P....PP...PS...PPS
    P..... P....PP...PS...PPS

    N = normal
    P = pastel
    S = spider
    PS = bee
    PP = super pastel
    PPS = killerbee

    a killer bee is a super pastel spider. However, you can't get super pastels from a super pastel, the super pastel parent only passes on ONE copy of the pastel gene, making all offspring fathered (or mothered) by it at least a pastel. In order to keep producing supers, the other parent must also have at least a single copy of the pastel gene. To be guaranteed to produce supers, you must breed two heterozygous (super) animals together.

    i think the rest of your question may have been answered in the rest of the post :)

    hi ! Alan

    as bee come from pastel and spider ,why it still carrying the Normal (N) gen?

    pastel gen = P2N (co-dominant)
    Spider gen = SN (dominant)

    Pastel X Spider

    P2 N
    S P2S SN
    N P2N NN

    1)P2S (bumble bee)
    2) SN (spider)
    3)P2N (pastel)
    4) NN (normal)

    form the above ,it can show bumble bee do not contain (N) normal gens ,agree?

    thank you very much:)
