    Little Breeding Update
So....I have been breeding my mojo x normal since August, which started out as just a test to see if they'll breed, and have kept at it as long as they've been keeping at it since then. She started showing signs of bowl wrapping, swelling, etc. Two weeks ago she shed the second time in a month..after being really bloated looking. To add to all this she's been off feed for a month or so as well. I tried to palpate her based off of pictures that I had seen once and a description that I had read, to no avail. Then I watched this Ralph Davis Video : YouTube - Pet Project 08 - part 1 ( follicles )

And found out that palpating females is so much easier than Ive been making it out to be. When you put your bottom finger on their stomach it's like hitting a switch that flattens them out. RD showing the "pop" that your finger does as it goes over every follicle explained a lot, and I palpated my female to find 6 golf ball sized lumps in her belly. Yesterday I palpated her and they are the size of plums (best analogy I have lol sorry). So now we're going to get the incubator fired up.

I do have a question though...I was told that in this stage she is just approaching ovulation. How fast do the eggs grow into almost full sized eggs which I assume is the size they are during ovulation?

Here's some pics, of him, her and some snake love. Not really new pics of them, but a lock from 3 weeks ago. Camera got lost in the move, still searching. Ive been meaning to get pics of the new herp room anyway so Ill get those up as soon as my camera turns up.

Follicles are not even eggs yet from my understanding. If I'm not mistaken when she moves her eggs up into the oviducts, this is called ovulation. During ovulation she will actually use the males sperm to shell and fertilize the eggs at that time. The time between her developing follicles and actually ovulating could vary a lot. There are things that can help push a female into ovulation, like, feeding the a decent sized meal or continuing to introduce the male. I have a female that has me way confused right now so I know how you feel. Good luck.

Hi, from the preovulatory shed to the ovulation itself there are usually 4 to 5 weeks. From the ovulation to the pre egg shed, 21 days and from the pre egg shed to egg laying you are going to have to wait a full month more. No sure if this is what you asking. Best wishes!!

Thanks for the wishes, Im asking more for the growth rate of a follicle to an egg. Like I said, they noticeably increased in size in a week, so Im just trying to figure out how long I have till I have an ovulation.

hey kon, not to be on the obvious side but u can see the dates on the vids...
march 6th = dime sized follicles or small marbles
march 21 = end of vid he says after ovulation... so im guessing she ovulated the day b4
    april 9 = pre-lay shed
    may 9th = 7 eggs

Oh snapz0rz I didnt even think to check the dates of the videos. Although, it all depends on when he uploaded them too, but that seems about right on the time frames. She's rejecting the mojo right now as we speak, and theyre usually locked within minutes. Fingers crossed anyway.
