White millet seed as substrate?

I've heard of a lot of lizard owners (bearded dragons and another type of lizard whose species i can't remember for the life of me) using white millet seed as substrate, I was wondering what snake owners thought of this as well.

If you mist it might sprout haha.:P Depending on the size(the stuff we give our birds is quite small) I would be concerned about the snake breathing it in.

LOL talk about "live planted terrarium" haha i didn't even think about that.

Yes, the millet would absorb any available moisture, and if it were wetted, it would sprout or mold. It's probably good for desert species such as uromastix, but would likely be too drying for ball pythons.

I think the other species of lizard was a uromastix now that you mention it :)

Do you think it would be appropriate to use for corns or kings with their lower humidity requirements?

I use newspaper right now and i have NO plans to change that, i just thought it looked kinda cool every time the two lizard owners im taking about uploaded pictures. The substrate was efficient and safe if accidentally ingested.

I believe it's called corn cob. I wouldn't use this type of substraite because it could breath it in or can get stuck in it mouth.

no corncob and millet are different bedding

Please don't try the millet, When I bought my ball day before yesterday, the petstore had them on millet and when I got her home, I noticed one side of her face looked funny, I looked closer and it looked like her mouth was rotting or something!!!! I got some tweezers and pulled out 4 seeds from her lips, there was no rotting, thank god, but her mouth did bleed a little, it's fine now, but If she had to continue to live on it, it would probably be much worse...
