Mia
Good morning !
We were going to get a small rat (rat pup I think they call it) but we couldn't fine any so we gave her the next size up from what she's eating now which is an adult mouse.
I didn't think she could eat it because it was quite a bit bigger than the medium, but she did it. I kept asking my son if he wanted to take it away and give her smaller tomorrow, but she did eventually get it down.
It actually took her almost a half hr to figure it all out and get it completely down. I had heard that they normally take about 15 min to eat so since it took her longer, does that mean it's to big for her? Ok, dumb question, she got it down so I guess it wasn't to big.
But we are proud of her, she's graduated !!!

a half hour doesn't seem incredibly long IMO.
just an anecdote: my one CG girl will sometimes sit there like she's "guarding" the rat for 15 minutes (after strike+coil) before she starts to figure out how to get it in her mouth lol. she's my weirdest/pickiest eater.
maybe Mia was excited for a nice big meal and wanted to savor it.

That is exactly what she did. She struck harder and faster than she ever has, and then she laid there with it all coiled up like she was just holding it. She had the nose in her mouth and just laid. She seemed to lay there all coiled up around it forever and I thought it wasn't moving, but next I looked and all I saw was a tail.
This is also the very first time she's ever really coiled around her food. Usually she strikes it and then lays sort of stretched out while eating. I'm thinking since the mouse was bigger, she felt like she had more to hold onto and coiled it up tight !
