Just to make sure I'm not missing something

This boy has been obsessed with soaking in his water bowl as of late and will wedge himself in there. He's been here for over a year so he's not a new addition. Already checked for mites and nothing. Took him off paper towels as he kept dumping the water. Put reptichip down for humidity just in case. No pink belly or dull colors but hasn't been eating for the last few weeks.

Am I missing something or is he just soaking to soak?

Mites? I've checked the tub as well as him and I can't find any. He was on paper towels and didn't see any on the paper.

phew! well that's good. could be a possible upcoming shed? my 0.1 Super Cinnamon would soak before a shed when she was younger, before pink belly or dull coloring.

You sure the temps are in point? He could be too hot.

Double checked with the temp gun and thermometer. He's out of the bowl now. It's just so weird because usually that behavior is indicative of mites.

It's mites or appears to be. I only found one on him but suspect he may have more under the scales that I can't see given his colors.

Usually the most likely suspect is mites and shed or temps spike, and if you found one mite there are likely more.

It's a pain because now you want to treat everyone just to cover your basis.

Yeah. He's going to be in quarantine for about a month just to be on the safe side even if I don't see any other mites. He was on paper towels but never found any on the paper when he started. His quarantine tub was sprayed with proventamite and aired out before he went in.

I dumped everyone's bedding and placed them all on newspaper. Since the majority of my crew consists of hognoses I can't put everyone on paper towels because I'll be changing them daily as it is. I also used frontline on a glove as I moved each one to a new tub. They'll be on paper for two weeks just so I can be sure nobody else has mites.

More than anything else, I'm annoyed because I don't know how mites got in here. I know it happens to everyone but it's still frustrating because I haven't brought anyone else in recently or been to shows. I have a new arrival that already shipped who is also going into quarantine so he'll get frontline as well.
