Finding an apartment with a snake

    ... is hard as

We were up in Norfolk trying to find a new place and it was just two days of frustration. All the bigger complexes don't allow reptiles for dumb reasons, so we were confined to personally owned properties. Most were garbage, but we found a couple right next to the beach we liked well enough.

But geez! I did not expect it to be so dang hard! I should, have done more research.

That's what we did about Lucy here, just got her and didn't say anything. But I didn't want to risk anything in a new place. Here we always know when maintenance is coming in, I don't know if it would be the same elsewhere. And I figured people would wonder about the giant tank.

Idk maaaan. Maybe we should just sneak her in somewhere.

Dont get mad if they find her and you are homeless shortly after. Its not fair to the animals that we make the choice to keep.

That's the big reason I wanted to be upfront about having her. I don't want to be forced to give her up. It's just been a stressful few days.

I keep an enclosed rack. To any home inspector, it is just a plain old wooden cabinet with shelves. Odorless, silent and inconspicuous. Nobody has any clue what private possessions I am storing in my cabinet shelves and that works out well. They are so quiet, I forget they are even there sometimes.

Yeah, you definitely should be honest and up front.
The landlords are usually pretty good about writing up the lease and will typically have it in writing that any pets are a violation of the lease and grounds for eviction. And even if it didn't lead to eviction, I'm guessing it would be an uncomfortable living situation if the landlord found out he/she was being lied to.

Good luck with your search!! I'm sure it's stressful, but you'll find something.

We found two decent units in the area we wanted, so things are looking up.

Thanks! It's our first Navy move and, obviously, our first move with a snake.
