Is this a Rock or retic?!?!?!?!?
So I got this guy not to long ago as some may know by seeing my previous post and I had some friends over and they went to look in the snake room and they looked at this girl and said she is a rock python not a retic.... I'll post a pic because I'm sure she is a retic but what are some differences in rock and retic so I can convince them she is not a rock... Thank you pic of her down below

That is a Retic.
African Rock Pythons look more like burmese and have a stocky block head

That is completely a Retic lol, not even close to a Rock. I've posted a pic of a Rock for comparison.

Lol thank you I knew she was a retic... especially since neither of them have had snakes before so I guess it's time for some educational lesson in snakes 101 by yours truly... for some reason they just would not believe me so hopefully they believe people that have been in this hobby for alot longer than me.... once again thank you..... but on a side note ain't she beautiful tho.... she has a bit of a mean streak but she is beautiful either way

Re: Is this a Rock or retic?!?!?!?!?
Well I was either going to make another post for this question but I don't want to flood the forum with different post of mine so I might just ask it here.....if a retic is 2.5/3 yrs old is their even a possibility to tame it down that late in it's life or is it "set in it's ways" my other two retic I have are a absolute pleasure to handle it's just the previous owner said this girl is strictly a breeder and to be very Carfull around her and if she is not going to take down that's fine I'll still love her the same that won't change.... if their is a chance to take it down what steps should be taken to start trying to tame I know just jumping in and trying to get her out is not smart at all so any help would be loved.... Thank you

Re: Is this a Rock or retic?!?!?!?!?
And the dead giveaway between a Rock and Burmese Python is a Rock Python does not have a prehensile tail.
I think any snake given the chance can learn trust and eventually calm down. I cautiously use the word tame when describing behavior of nondomesticated animals. Use plenty of protection and utilize a buddy system in case you need it and see what happens. I know I'm comparing apples to oranges here but I have successfully calmed wild caught full grown Bull snakes several times over the years but I did take a few licks in the process. Good luck.
