    Thermometer probe

    Hi all,
I have my tub set up. Hot spot is currently at 93 and 60 percent humidity. The water dish is closer to the hot spot to have the humidity at this perfection. My stat is working perfect. I have 6 holes drilled on either side which I hope is enough for air flow.

My my question is how do you guys secure the thermometer probe to the botton of the tub without using tape, glue gun or silicon? I'm worried once I pick my ball up and she is in the tub she may get wrapped up in the wiring causing injury. It's currently under the news paper on the hotspot side. I plan on getting a temp gun tomorrow for perfect reading for cool side and hot side of the tub.

I appreciate all suggestions. As I want all husbandry to be spot on.

    thanks

Perhaps ziptie the probe to a suction cup(s)? I'm sure someone else has a better solution but this was a method I was considering trying if my cage allowed suction cups to stick on.

    Re: Thermometer probe

this probably won't be a popular opinion, but i use the sticky tack stuff used for posters and the like. it's not actually "sticky" but holds its place. once the tack is covered by substrate the substrate sticks to the tack and the tack loses any stickiness it had, leaving the bottom the only sticky part. i've been using this method for a few months and no one in my group has managed to move the probe heads, nor have i noticed any problems.

Hot glue guns work fine in my experience - semi-permanent but can be peeled away if necessary.
