Nose problems?
I got my ball python two weeks ago and when we got her she had what looked like dry skin or stuck shed but today I took a picture of her and I was able to see how bad it really looked. Can someone tell me what it is and if she's going to be ok.

Re: Nose problems?
definitely looks like a scuffed-up snoot. i don't think i'd be worried yet; wait until the next shed to see if it goes away.

Hm, difficult to tell.
The more I look at it, it looks like a piece of stuck shed. All wrinkled up.
Poor thing probably has been trying to get it off, and rubbed his nose on stuff, causing the wrinkling.
Put a couple wet hand towels in a container (lukewarm wet) and put the snake in there with it. Wring the towels out enough to where they aren't sopping wet. Make sure some of the towel is in top of the snake, loosely.
Keep checking of course. You want to see what happens to that nose when the moist, humid air hits it. Might very well just be old skin that will soften up enough to be rubbed off..

Re: Nose problems?
You could also try applying a warm, damp paper towel or cloth to her nose for a while, too. And/or give her a nice humid hide.
