Learning to constrict
Quick question... Somebody may be able to offer some insight. My approx. 6 month old baby corn keeps eating his meals alive.
He *tries* to kill them by constriction, but fails miserably. My question is, how long does it take for a young corn to perfect its constricting skills?
Thanks!!

Re: Learning to constrict
My corn actually stopped constricting much as she grew up.. But that's probably due to feeding mostly f/t

Maybe the bugger is playing with his food? I'll not worry about it until the prey gets bigger.

Re: Learning to constrict
My corn did that as a baby...when I feed F/T, I try to tug a bit on the tail to encourage "killing it"...that and it's funny as heck. =D

Re: Learning to constrict
Pretty new into corns myself....shocked the bejesus out of me the first time I saw it! None of mine are very big yet, and I only have one that constricts and kills.

Re: Learning to constrict
We have two baby corns, and we only feed f/t. Our boy constricted for the first time last week, though it would not have been enough force to do much to anything but a pinky...if that.

Re: Learning to constrict
Mine have never constricted pinkys or fuzzies, once they got larger in prey size they did. But I also feed f/t so its not an issue. I'd recommend switching to f/t though, then it's not even an issue.

Re: Learning to constrict
why dont you just switch to f/t its safer and cheaper unless you breed them yourself if which case i would at least stun them first
