    Super questions...

Hey folks I have a few questions on supers and what could potentially be produced by them.To make things easy we will use Super pastels.
I you bred a super pastel to a super pastel, would you get all supers?
If you don't what would you get? I'n theory(%)

    Re: Super questions...

Super to the same kind of super should produce all supers unless you get a paradox on the 1 in a 1,000,000 chance. BELs are a little different, but it may not be noticeable. If you breed a Mojave/Lesser BEL to a Lesser/butter BEL you should still get all BELs, but you will not know the cross out for the BEL.

    Re: Super questions...

Google "markus jane ball python genetics" or do a search on here.

Super x Super = all supers yes since the only genetics to pass on are the super genetics. If you had a normal in there you'd get all visible hets(codominants). Once you understand genetics and how they work you can gell immediately what you should get from a pairing but obviously when working with mutations there is always a variable such as the aformentioned paradox.

    Re: Super questions...

Yes, all supers. If you have two parents that each have two Pastel genes (visually super pastels) and they each have to pass on one of those genes, the only possible combination of genes that the offspring will inherit will be two Pastel genes (one from each parent). Thus, all supers.

    Thanks for the replys everyone!
ok now I have a few more questions, what if you breed a super pastel to a pastel?(super pastel x pastel)

You would get all pastels from that pairing right? What % could potentially be supers? Also what would happen if you mixed things up and bred a co-dom say Lesser pastel x Super pastel? What would you be looking at % for the clutch?

    Re: Super questions...

Super Pastel x Pastel would have 50% Pastels/50% Super Pastels.

Can anyone give me a ball park on this? The reason I am so curious is because theres a Super pastel I may possibly buy but, I want to do my research first.

25% pastel, 25% pastel lesser, 25% super pastel , and 25% super pastel lesser

I am pretty sure that's the result.
