Ewwwwww!!!!
Ok, so I'm not one to be afraid of bugs.. Aside from maggotts, roaches, and I do have a bad pheobia of centapieds... But other then that, I could care less.
I get crickets by the thousand to feed to my Bearded Dragon, and they dont bother me... But this morning I was getting ready to leave and decided to check and make sure the crickets 'water pillow' was full and that they had food, but they didnt.
so I grabbed a thing of Flukers High-Calcium Cricket Feed that I just bought like two days ago (and I've never used the brand, but I had heard good things so I figured I would try it), and guess what I saw when I unscrewed the lid?
HUNDREDS of little discusting bugs crawling around in the food!! I dont know what they were/are, Ive never seen anything like them before... I'm used to worms too by the way, because I feed him pheonix worms as well, but these.. EWWWW!!!
Now the containers just sitting there, and I can't return it today because the pet store I go to is closed- which sucks because I didnt know that they were closed today and so my snakes can't eat until tomorrow!!
Todays not lookin so hot...

Re: Ewwwwww!!!!
I bought some cricket drink, and I had it for about 3 months, and it turned this dark green color and really slimy. Ick. The snake should be find for another day, crickets will eat just about anything I think.

Well I really dont think it was the pet store I got it from's fault- I think it was the company. I had read on it, "do not feed if insect-infested", which is really the reason I looked- but seriously, if you read that, would you really think that there WOULd be insects? I didnt- but I was wrong- ewww....

This exact same thing happened to me, we returned it, and wanted to get another one, but every single one on the shelf had bugs in it, musta been a bad batch from the factory.

Re: Ewwwwww!!!!
Use potatoes, Flukers is crap. I think I remember reading what kind of bugs they are, something about they lay eggs in the food and can hatch later( so yes, most cans still have the eggs) I remember someone mentioning moth larva?

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat
