    [HOW-TO] Create a Poll

    It's quite a simple process

    Step 1:
You can only create a poll when creating a new thread. Navigate to the forum you want to post in, and click "New Thread"

    Step 2:
Put in a title and the thread content. At the bottom, in the Additional Options panel, Check the box that says "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and then put the number of options you want in.

    Then click SUBMIT NEW THREAD!

You won't see Step 3 until you submit the thread. Keep in mind, that your thread will immediately show up, but your poll won't show up until you are finished with Step 3.

    Step 3:
Here, you put in the Poll Title, you can update the number of options people can vote on, and then you have an area to type in each option.

If you want the poll to close after a certain amount of time, type in the number of days you want the poll to stay open.

Also, under the misc. options, you can allow users to select multiple choices, make the votes public (other people can see who voted for what), parse links in text (meaning, if you type in www.ball-pythons.net, the forum will automatically turn it into a link), and disable the smilies in text (who would do such a thing?

Make sure you preview your poll before submitting it!

Once you're sure everything is all good...SUBMIT!!!

    Re: [HOW-TO] Create a Poll

Excellent post, Nate...thanks for throwing that together. I tweaked it just a teeny bit...I hope you don't mind!

    One other thought to add:

Please, when creating a poll...write down your question and the poll options you want to do before hand. That way, you'll know exactly what number to put in the box...and you will be able to quickly fill in the Poll info after you've submitted your thread.
