    Re: help with feeding

When I got mine as a baby (4 months) she didn't eat for 2 weeks (stress, new environment etc). I just left her alone until she ate, only then did I handle her after the requisite rest period after eating.

Did you ask the store whether they were feeding live or f/t? If it was f/t best stick with it (but that's just my opinion)

I don't think (unless I missed it) you every did reply to the question as to what your temps are on hot side and cool? Could make all the difference ...

    Re: help with feeding

I assume you are using a heat mat or ceramic heater and not just a light bulb ... please forgive me if you are - but you didn't mention it.

    Re: help with feeding

MY BP is sometimes like that - I don't know why really, I always assume that extra activity might point to looking for prey mode.

    Re: help with feeding

    Welcome to the forum!
I would let your snake get acclimated for a longer time before offering food again (about 2 weeks should do it.) When they are stressed, they go into what I call "defensive, or scared, mode." This is alot different than "feeding mode." I am sure that if you lay off of him/her for this period of time, your feeding afterward will be a success.
No handling yet either! I know it is Tough; I know from experience how badly you want to handle the little fella, but waiting now will pay off for the snake's entire life.
