    Figured I'd Introduce Myself

    Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Super excited to be a part of this group, as many of the threads have helped me greatly in the past. I'm currently a college student at West Liberty University in West Virginia and am studying Zoo Science and Applied Conservation. Unfortunately, being in college means that I can't have as many scaly friends as I'd like but we'll get there one day. Snakes are my favorite reptiles, especially those in the family Dipsadidae, but I am a big fan of all of the other orders. Somehow I lucked out and my advisor is someone who I would consider a herpetologist, he won't admit it though since he is officially an astacologist. Anyways, because of that, all of my research projects during my undergraduate career will be surrounding herps and I can't wait to share whatever I find with whoever will listen. Currently, I am studying Heterodon nasicus, Agkistrodon contortrix, and possibly Spilotes pallatus. Outside of herpetoculture, I enjoy running, reading, and just learning in general. Welp that's enough about me.

    Happy herping!

    TS

Nevermind. I should have thought to look at your profile. I'd love to hear about keeping Long-tailed grass lizards, and see pics. This thread will show you how to post them: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...-Post-Pictures.

The Long-tailed Lizard is actually a recent rescue that I took in because I had a random bioactive tank that I set up a while back that works for the species. I definitely will make a post on them once I can do a deep dive into their natural history and care. So far it kinda reminds me of the Elgaria multicarinata (Southern Alligator Lizards) that I used to keep, only significantly smaller and with a rediculously long tail. Like 3+ times SVL.

Absolutely. I've personally found iNaturalist and Weatherspark to be especially helpful in determining temp, humidity, and cycling for different species.
