    Two RHP's in One Enclosure

Regarding PVC or wood enclosures of 6 ft. or less... has anyone ever used TWO RHP's, one on the cool side and one of the warm? Each RHO with its own thermostat, and most likely in a colder room, to try and better attain a left-to-right gradient?

Trying to plan out some future enclosures. And, my snake room tends to be in the low to mid 60's. Have no problem, technically, with the several enclosures I have there now, using ONE RHP. But, wondering how two would work.

Yes, two Pro Products in T35's an T60's. I'm using Herpstat 2's an 4's. Rooms are 70 in the summer an mid 60's in the winter.. If I order anymore T8's I'll have two small Pro Products put in them. The temps stay constant even if the room temp drops. So much better then the old days.

Call Pro Products an see what they say, 845-628-8960.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the info. The T35 and T60 are obviously much longer. I'm wondering more-so on a 4' enclosure... T8 & T10. I'm wondering if one would throw off the other with the thermostat. Unless, of course, maybe get a lower wattage panel for each side. I definitely want to give it a try.

In your T35 & T60, where do you have each herpstat probe placed?

Probes are 3”-4” off the deck an centered on the RHP. Hot glued in place. Bedding is butcher paper with news print on top. I’m running five T35’s, at 6 feet they are the smallest with two panels. My T8’s in the same room don’t keep as constant temps. That’s why the next order will have two panels. Or a larger panel. I’ll talk it over with Pro Products before the order is placed.

In the summer the cold side doesn’t have to work much as the hot side will take care of both (T35, the T60’s always are working).

I do know a keeper with T8’s running Pro Product panels an heat tape on Herp 2’s. He does it for the same reason as two panels. Cold side was perfect but the hot side was too high. Get the hot side perfect an the cold side is off.

Yes, I hear the people saying a larger panel will fix it. I might try that with the next T8’s. I’ll see what https://pro-products.com/pro-heat/ says. Or maybe I should just sell the farm an buy a new house that heats an cools better? Nope, I’ll keep my dirt

Give Pro Products a call. Your not the first or last keeper going the duel heat source.

    Good luck!
