I just picked up a beautiful orange bloch reticulated gargoyle gecko and named her Neela... They too are very awesome little creatures. Thank you for sharing Katie and please keep us updated on her progress
Pictures of Neela please! No pictures and it didn't happen.

Do you have a thread? Please send link? If not, start one! We want pictures!

Yeah, I started a thread about Katie joining BP.net and also Katie started her own about that, and a few others, like this one.

She's not only learning how to be a great Leachie momma, in addition to loving my reptiles, especially Solana (who she handles and even feeds regularly), but she's really becoming part of the community on here as well. I couldn't be happier about that or more proud of her in how she's taken to Ezzy and how seriously she is taking her care.

    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Esmeralda continues to do very well. Tonight, Dakski showed me how to properly clean and sanitize her home. I am having trouble with humidity in the room she is in and have noted mold in the enclosure. So that's not good. Dakski and I decided to swap out the wood chips, which are A) expensive and B) super messy - ergo I cannot stand them with the printless newspaper he uses in all the other enclosures. It doesn't seem that Ezzy spends ANY time near the woodchips... So yeah. That should be okay I hope. I will be monitoring the situation closely and making sure to spray as needed.

I take the logs out once a week to clean them and swap out... I have 2 sets. I put them back in there in different positions to give her some stimulation. Tonight, though, they are arranged as so and I came into the room to find this super cuteness!!!

Oh, she looks like she LOVES that tunnel! She's almost invisible if you don't know she's there.

Sorry to hear about the mold! Gahhh glad you caught it early !!

what are their desired humidity levels ?

just a suggestion and not sure how it works for them but with my crested gecko ET I just spray the back corner when I mist or a side of the glass and him a bit and gently that way the water is just to the side and not the cork or substrate. Might be worth a try. I’ve noticed that cork can really hold moisture.

Good idea swapping for paper to combat the issue.

At first, we thought we had a bad humidity gauge, it kept reading 90%+. They can be unreliable, so I bought the same one I use for Behira and Shayna, and it read close to the same.

The tank is so well insulated and the room is really humid now (AC window unit came out and temps are in the 75F range, but humidity has gone up). However, I believe this will only last a few days as it's getting colder and less humid here in CT. Additionally, the heat will kick on soon and start to dry things out.

SunshwineWalker has been great about spraying the sides only, and checking first to see how "damp" the tank is. She hadn't sprayed in 3-4 days once she/we noticed how damp it was in there. Range for Ezzy is 65-80%, but ideal is probably about 70-75% with a bump when shedding.
