    Gopher Snake in Mouse Trap

So last night I set a catch-em-alive mouse trap and woke up this morning to find a fat gopher snake inside it! I thought you all would be interested to see it. I think it's funny that it happened upon a free dinner and went in the trap.

LOL. It is no longer a catch-em-alive.

I'v had the same thing happen with a Kingsnake. When I use those traps, I make sure to check them daily. I'd hate to inadvertently kill a snake!

Well, that solves the dilemma of what to do with the live rodent!

That's hilarious LOL. How do you get rid of the live mouse, assuming a snake didn't eat it?

Yeah I will always check them daily from now on! I don't want to kill a snake either!

I have a kingsnake that normally gets the mice I catch. I think he was happy to share with this clever girl though!

I would not recommend feeding wild caught mice to a pet snake. You don't know what it has been eating. What if it ate rat poison before you caught it. Or drank oil or antifreeze. Plus you take chances that it has mites or something else
Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

Ah I see! Yeah, I wouldn't recommend feeding them to pet snakes either, just in case. Having eaten poison or having parasites or worms being my main concern.
