Cool Is this really a carpet?

I found this picture that the article called a carpet python.

    http://www.woaw.org.au/14andOver/are...do-snakes-eat/

I've been researching pythons for the last few weeks, and even with my newness to the world of herps, I think I can tell pretty easily that this isn't a carpet. Looks more like a Burmese or an African Rock to me.

Could you give me your opinion? Am I crazy for not seeing a carpet here? I didn't think that they could get that thick from what else I've seen of them.

Re: Is this really a carpet?

Hahaha! I thought the article was a joke at first! Beautiful burm, though. It's almost as funny aa national geographic's video about Burmese Pythons, where half of the animals featured were Ball Pythons. I'd like to know where they find their "professionals".

African Rock Pythons bear a strong resemblance to Burmese Pythons, but you would likely never see a child, or anyone else for that matter, relaxing with one. Their notoriously aggressive.
