    Any recommended breeders for GTPs?

So its going to be a while before I pull the trigger on a GTP but I would like to get a list of reputable breeders people have had luck with so for those of you who have one, who do you recommend? I am going to be looking for either an Aru, Sorong or Manikwari leaning towards the last 2. I have read that 'farm hatched" ones can carry parasites which are pretty much undetectable and will eventually make their way into the lungs of the animal thus killing it and not showing any symptoms. Not sure if its true but I would rather stick strictly to a CBB.

There's guy in my area that specializes in GTP. HE's been breeding them for many years. He's not the first guy in the US to breed, but I believe that he falls into that early breeder category. He can probably help you decide which GTP you want.

    He's a certified shipper too.

If you are interested, shoot me a PM and I will give you his phone number.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Inland Reptiles in Spokane, WA. they actually specialize in Carpet Pythons, but have have other arboreal pythons as well. they'll probably be at the Seattle show in May.

here's Nick, the owner/breeder, at his table from the show last fall:

    and some of his GTP's:

Edit: there's actually a guy in our area on CL selling his 12yr old GTP right now with enclosure and all the gear. price tag is like $850 tho.

Thanks. Yeah I knew about Inland reptiles but he does carpets like you said. He doesn't breed GTPs. And I also want a neonate or yearling when I do get one, not a 12 year old snake lol.

Sweet Reinz. Not looking right now, probably wont be until end of summer at the earliest. I pretty much know I will want either a Sorong or Manokwari. They are pretty much the same type, a nice green with high blue dorsal stripe, just different locals but real close. Sucks I have no GTP people up here lol, got a couple carpet guys though, Ed Lilly and Inland Reptiles but no GTP guys.

try Molecular Reptiles from Spokane/Idaho. there were like only 2-3 vendors that had GTP's and i think they were one of them. i remember them b/c they were the only one who had White-Lipped Pythons at the show:

man, i can't wait for the next show.

Edit: Hewitt Reptile Emporium in Everett has a diverse number of species at their shop. i actually visited them for the first time on Saturday, saw two GTP's. no babies tho.

Yeah atm I buy my rabbits from them. I knew the old owner and used to do trades of dubia roaches for rats. I know the new owner too, done a couple trades with her too. The 2 GTP she has are pets but we've talked about maybe selling them but they aren't sorong or manokwari. I think they were aru. And I believe they were farm hatched but I don't remember. She had a nice BCA in about a year ago that I was thinking of buying but she had no real info on it other than it was from a breeder in Idaho. Oh btw, Hewitt has a male and female baby jungle carpet, I was so tempted to get the male haha. They are local bred too. Gotta hold out though for that GTP as I have wanted one since a kid lol.

And thanks. Yeah doesn't seem like there are a lot of GTP breeders. Lots of reptile wholesale shops that sell the farm hatched ones though I've found but if I'm going to drop $400-$600 on a snake, I want to know what i'm getting. Not just a "It's from Juan and Julios reptile farm in the backwater region of Kukamunga" lol.

And i'm ALWAYS broke when those shows come around. Next year i'm going to be more prepared...of course I always say that haha.

ha, i held that baby male Carpet. it was so cute! i couldn't believe they were so tiny, like baby colubrids. i think imma skip GTP's and get a Carpet next year. another forumer/breeder - STjepkes - sells his BP's/has them on consignment there and i went to go check them out (nice Leopards). it's a really cool shop.

anyway back on topic - i hope others chime in. otherwise i would hop on Fauna and put an inquiry into their BOI section. (or save up and wait for a show.)

Yeah I thought about a carpet too but like I said, I always wanted a GTP. Might get a carpet one day but my future ones so far are a GTP, then probably a high expression Jungle het albino BCI or maybe a Motley het albino BCI. Both males so if in the future I get a wild hair, I can breed them to my sunglow gal and maybe make some Junglows or Sunglow Motleys. Or maybe get a carpet...omg looking at snakes is like being a kid in a candy store. I want em all!!! If I was going to get a carpet though, I would pretty much go through Inland Reptiles. He seems to be the man for carpets.
