So, last post for today, I'm tired got to get to sleep.

This male is the father of the three dinkers you'll see after him. He is himself a dinker, but not the source of the original trait we think is genetic. His mother belonged to Uintah Reptiles and they sold her. They have some of this gene still in their collection and I have the rest (other than the original female). He is a Dinker Yellow Belly son of the original female and an unrelated yellow belly. He is also the father of the following babies back to his mother. That's important because one of them might be the super as the gene (if there is one) is dominant (and maybe co-dominant). Here's Rice Krispies...

The least expressing offspring (and I wish I was a better photographer) named Crackle:

The next best expressing, female, named Pop:

And the one that shows the gene the best is a male named Snap. Hopefully he is just a good example of the gene not a super and the super is even better than him. Picky eater though, took a long time to get him over to rats.

Well, I'm a little surprised that there are no responses. There's not much to say, "oh that one is great". I know we don't have any *cool* snakes but they're all cool to us. We do hope to get there and have some great snakes. For now we're learning the ropes and are more concerned with practicing proper husbandry than anything else. As a koi keeper one saying is that you take care of the water and the fish will take care of themselves. The water they live in is key to everything. The main reason I read this site is to learn good husbandry.

So maybe these little guys are cool. They are part of the clutch pictured above, three Super Pastel Spiders (Killer Bees). They are all good eaters and have not missed a meal since we started feeding them. Actually only one individual out of the clutch has not eaten yet, of course it's Logan.

    The next one:

    And the last:

Well that's all for now. Until I try to shoot the rest of the collection. All of the babies are eating (except Logan) and once a few of them have another meal or two I'll feel safe to take them out for a photoshoot. Can't wait to shoot pictures of our little banded boy.

Oh I did have one more baby from that clutch. This is a Spider, maybe Enchi Spider? To me it's just a spider but...the head stamp and the tail make me think otherwise. So undecided on this one, maybe some more practiced eyes could help.

I think I lurked so long because there is a lot of real expertise here. What could I say that would even be on par with them? Now I feel I can at least say "you need a thermostat, you need more humidity during sheds, your snake might be hungry" and not look like a fool. (Side note: oh, the box of looking good and avoiding looking bad - how it runs human being) I also can bring something to the plate in terms of genetics. I was studying genetics engineering before my life took the course of software engineering. I used to write programs to model genetics (decades ago) now I am again for ball pythons.

I finally got some good pictures of my Banded - Bantah line ball python. Uintah Reptiles and I think we have the same recessive gene as Corey Woods. Of course, only breeding would prove that. At the least we know we have a recessive banding/pattern reduction gene.
