Asf help!!!!
My one and only male the dad of my babies just ate one of them!
The babies are 3 weeks old now so its not like they are that small anymore.
The adults are all healthy and eating everyday. What would cause him to do that?
Should I remove all the babies and give them their own tub?

Re: Asf help!!!!
3 weeks may be a little early to remove them from their mother.

Thats what I was thinking. I really am clueless right now lol
Should I move the mothers and babies?
one of the two mothers just gave birth this morning and the other one birthed 3 weeks ago (obviously)

They haven't run out of water have they? If they have plenty of food and water, I wouldn't worry to much right now. Maybe there was something wrong with that one?

They have plenty and plenty of food and water. Maybe the baby died and the dad was just getting rid of the body???

Re: Asf help!!!!
When a rodent dies, its often another will eat it to get rid of the body (to stop the body going bad etc)
Do the other young ones look okay in terms of their health?
Also, sometimes the bigger ASFs will kill and eat the younger ones if there is no food/water, even less often if their diet is very poor, this will happen with the majority of rodents.

Nope I dont have them anymore.
But either way they were getting a high quality rat diet and they always and I mean always had food and water.
Everyone was healthy and active. Eyes were all fine not running, cloudy or slimy, fur was all perfect and smooth and they were all very active.
I really dont know what caused it.
