Ambient temp help

Im keep my ball pythons in one of my bedrooms. I keep the thermostat on 72 for the house. My tubs have temps in the hot spot of 89. On the cool side its about 76. How do yall that keep the snakes in your home get the temps in the tubs higher without heating the entire house? Thanks

With the use of tubs I have never found an efficient way of doing this. The downside of tubs little to know insulation value and limited safe options for ambient temp control. The only way i have seen any attempt is to place the tub in a box that has the open end out, not up and add a fluorescent light or heat pad to the top or back and try to heat the air in the box. basically building a enclosure for the tub. IMO a proper enclosure (PVCx ) is far easier or a side turned tank for the frugal.

Sounds good. I will close 3 sides and see what that does and add a light in the front. Thanks for the help.

I am using a space heater in the room the bp's are in to help bring up ambient temp.
