I'm new here but have been a keeper of a single ball python (Eleanor) since November of 2001. I have a REALLY cool picture of her which I'll post as soon as I figure out how to do all this stuff...lol. She is awesome, if she had legs I would think she was just a really ugly dog As of yesterday I am the also the keeper of a male BP, his name is Vincent. He seems to have the same temperment as Eleanor did the first day she was home, though he's a tiny bit more jumpy when I walk by the cage, lol. I also have 1.3 leopard geckos, but not for much longer because I'll be going to school in Canada nexy year and it'll be difficult to get permits for six reptiles, so I'm only bringing the two balls. Anybody know of any adoption sites that are free to post on? Anyway, I think I'm rambling (: I look forward to hanging around here!

Hey Everybody
Hi, Lindsay. Love the username! I will make you a gallery to put pics in. Just go to the Photo Gallery link on the left side of the page, and look for your album on the last page of the albums. You can then link your pics from there to forum posts.
Glad to have you here!
Randy

I know a few guys in Canada who might buy them from you, think you'd be willing to ship to them if they pay? Oh...wait....Boston eh?
Maybe I'll be interested in a few months. I'm in Maine. So I'd hook you up with shipping and if you want to charge a fee, sure. Let me know.
Congrats on the bp's, they are great pets. Gonna breed at any time?

Actually it's not that difficult to get the permits - it just takes awhile. Besides, leopard geckos aren't even CITES listed, so you don't have to have CITES permits to take them into Canada. You will need the paperwork for the ball pythons though.

Local laws could be the issue. In maine I can't even keep an amazon tree boa. We have about 15 snakes allowed. Permits are required for all the rest.

Thanks for the welcomes guys! The other issue with my geckos is moving into a small apartment with my boyfriend, he lives in NS, it took alot of convincing to get him to say yes to keeping the one snake (he almost went crazy when I brought home the other one, but he got over it quickly). If I've gotta keep the snakes out of the way, it'll be too difficult to keep a 29 and 20 gallon there in addition for the geckos. Have any ideas where I can look up Massachusetts laws to see if I need any paperwork from here too for the pythons?

Ball pythons are not on the restricted list for MA. If you want to look at the lists, just go to http://www.neherp.com and click on the 14th link down on the left-hand side. That has a listing of all restricted species for the state - i.e. which ones require permits & which ones aren't allowed.

I think that is what they were refering to.
