    What is she?

Picked up a collection and thought his girl was just a really light normal... And then she shed She brown on brown, no black at all. I took a picker with the other normal girl that came with the collection. She may not be anything special I'm just wondering since she looks so different. If any other pictures are necessary I can go take them just let me know.

Most likely a gorgeous normal, though you'd have to dink with her to be sure.

I sent her picture to a friend but he's gone to a show over the weekend and wont be back until Monday. I hoping he might have some insight as well.

The guy who had the collection had an older picture of her from about three years ago (she's 5 now) and she was more orange/yellow and brown almost like a butter/lesser? He said he thought she was a butter but couldn't remember if that's what the breeder they bought her from said or not. They were his son's snakes and the son(13) was the one who found them all and "purchased" them but after their breeding's failed this year(they tried maternal incubation with no heat pad just an increase in the room heat *sigh*) he didn't want anything to do with them any more. I wish I had gotten the photo in with the deal but I think I did really well anyway. I got all 5 snakes (her, the normal female, 2 unsexed pastels yearlings and a proven breeder male pastel adult plus tubs and about $70 worth of feeders) all for $220. I'm happy no matter what she turns out to be, and they were all handled and don't even have problems with you touching their heads. Everyone ate on their first feeding as well(they said she hadn't eaten since she laid her eggs but she gobbled up a med. rat)

    She is surely beautiful.

I suspect she's just a normal. But one with a lot to bring to the breeding game. She reminds me of the girls I selected to breed for fires and vanillas. The girl I bred to make my fires looks a LOT like your girl, and as I suspected, she made some incredible fires. The girl I chose to make vanillas with is a super light normal, and her vanilla babies were twice as light as any other vanilla I'd seen.

Your girl I would breed to a fire, her bright gold coloring and strong blushing should contribute a lot to the fire gene. Cinnamon would be another choice for me. Again, her rich golden color I think would add a lot to a bright cinnamon. Let me think. I don't believe I'd breed her to a lesser or butter, they already carry the gold color, so to me it would be a waste. Her slightly reduced pattern and gold color make her a candidate for spider's as well. Most people love bright golden spiders. Pinstripes would be along the same vein. Enchi would be another morph I'd pair her with. Once again, the gold color and blushing seem to just beg to be bred to a high quality enchi. If you like more expensive morphs, I think she'd excel paired to a het hed Axanthic.

Thanks Grace that gives me a lot to think about.

I have a spider ph pied that I could breed her to next year and I have a pastel but I don't think he'd be a good match... I'm getting a chocolate blast het hypo (making payments on him for a bit hehe) but he should be big enough to breed the following year. Do you think would be a good pairing?

I'll consider getting a fire or a cinny for later years too. I've wanted an Enchi too so I know that'd be no problem, and I'll have to check out the het reds.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
