That'll be a good thing to check out if there's any question about diet in the future.

A bit of a delayed response, but I have four dragons, and none of them have any stench.

On a note of diet, might I suggest not using lettuce? Perhaps as a treat or supplement, but consider looking into greens? Such as collard, mustard, or similar items? They would have more nutrients for your dragons.

Re: Do your beardies ummmm stink, I mean bad

Diets higher in protien and fat stink way more. When you feed super worms you get super stinky poop! Worms are like candy to beardies, very high in fat and should be given as treats not as a staple diet. I would only feed them some once a month unless I had a breeding female as they would get a much higher fat diet.

Beardies do poop alot and yeahs it reeks. A higher veggie diet as mentioned with variety of greens and crickets as their staple insect would help.

I used to breed beardies and have hatched many 100's and I definately have noticed a significant increase in odor when worms have been fed or other high protien food like pinkie mice.

There are actually a number of worms that are fine as a staple, including Superworms (as long as the dragon is the appropriate size). The only thing I've noticed that actually effects the smell of my dragons poo is which greens she's getting.

I suspect that 'Beardie stench' may relate to poor diet, and/or incorrect temps and/or worms. Mine has never smelt particularly bad but I have heard of many that do and it always seems to be related to the above factors.

If the temps are too low they tend to poop less often meaning that the food 'stews' in their digestive tract and smells a lot worse. In my experience, once the above factors are addressed the stench can be significantly reduced.

Well on the advice of others we switched to collard and mustard greens. Changing their bottoms most times twice a day as well. Noticeable improvement when you walk into the reptile room. Thanks so much!
