I am sure she has shed, but I cannot Find her "sheded" skin :-(

Thought I would start a new topic about this to make it clearer.

It is a continuation of this thread here:
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...71#post1633671

Basically, to Summarize, Last Saturday, her eyes turned grey already, I noticed this while I was feeding her.

Today I picked her up she is all clear, and her skin feels new and bright colored already.
But I cannot find her skin anywhere in her tank :-(

Is it possible she has eaten it?

usually once the eyes are cleared up it is about one or two days before they actually shed. So basically the eyes get cloudy, then clear up , and then one to two days later there will be shed skin.

The last stage of a shed is clearing of basically everything. Some still look dusty or hazy but some clear almost completely. I'd guess that the shed is still about to finish.

yeah thats normal. you will notice there whole body darken then it will look like normal. Then they shed and they look really good. A snake will not eat its own shed and it doesnt just vanish. I bet ull see her shedding tomorrow morning or the next day. Mines doing the same now and hopefully will shed tomorrow.

Dragons apparently do this so they don't leave a trail or give away their location to predators.

My ball takes about three days of "clear" before shedding. Yours is yet to come, I am sure! I've never heard of snakes eating their own sheds, but I did read about it once when I first got snakes and had the same thought

Sometimes they turn blue and they just take forever. So don't panic if she takes as long as a week. She won't eat the shed.

I don't know what I would do withou y'all Thanks, as you guys predicted, she just finished her shed when I got home. It's all in one piece . Question though, there is a dot of red on the shedded skin, right about where the cloaca is

    Is this normal?

    Congrats on one piece!

Yes sometimes there is a small spot of blood in that area when they shed.
