Yeah. I find that 20 gal is a minimum for most if not all adult snakes. If you plan on going with a 10 gal permanently, I'd look into newts/salamanders, a frog, or a crocodile skink instead. Though I've heard viper boas can stay in a 10 gal. Not sure on the validity of that one though.
