Symptoms of Belly rot?
I've been looking high and low for something comprehensive about the symptoms of belly rot in ball pythons and haven't really found anything. The other day I had my male out and noticed that his belly scales are a bit yellowish. Not really severe, just kind of towards the ends of the scales where they overlap they seem to be yellowing out a bit. Should I worry? All his scales seem healthy besides the , his enclosure is generally clean (had some urates that I had to leave for a couple days because I didn't want to disturb him while he was digesting) and my only problem is the humidity is too low thanks to having to heat the house.

Re: Symptoms of Belly rot?
Pictures would help. It's REALLY hard to offer any sort of confident advice based just on a brief, written description. But...based on what you've said...it doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Not exactly sure what it is....but also not sure I'm picturing what you're trying to describe. So long as the enclosure stays clean and dry (meaning, the substrate is not soaked all the time), even if it is the earliest stages of scale rot, it should shed off before it gets any worse.
Just keep things clean....and keep an eye on it. If there IS something going on and it gets progressively and/or rapidly worse...then you may need to consult a vet.
