Vision hatchling rack vs. ARS and Freedom Breeder

I'm shopping for a hatchling rack and found a 72 tub Vision with heat for $799. When I shopped for similar size ARS and Freedom Breeder racks they were in the $3,000 range. There are subtle differences between them but any idea why this huge of a difference. Experience with any of these?

Ars and fb are more solid. I saw the visions at daytona last year and they seemed a little flimsy to me. I have an ars and its very solid I could probably throw it off my house and not bend it. Just make sure you have a heated snake room.

I have a heated snake room. I don't plan on being rough with the rack. I just need something that holds up to heat tape (i.e. it won't warp over time). Do you think the Visions would hold up over time or do you think they are prone to warping. It would be one thing if the price wasn't so different but I could literally buy 3 Visions and still have several hundred left over for the price of just one ARS or FB of the same size.

Vision is made of plastic parts that are snapped together, ARS and FB is made of metal that is welded together. That's where the cost difference comes from.

Re: Vision hatchling rack vs. ARS and Freedom Breeder

I have 2 Vision V-70 racks, 1 Vision V-35 rack and a Freedom Breeder medium rack...I like them all. For my hatchling racks I buy the Vision hatchling tubs and build melamine racks to hold them. I can build a rack that holds 54 tubs complete w/tubs & heat for $300.

ars racks comes with heat panels that are insulated so they hold up very well with there own heat supply. Ive never used vision racks but I do know there cages will bow and warp over time.
