"Invasive" Burmese in State Tests
Hey guys, I just finished my final week in high school as a senior, but my girlfriend is a junior. She was taking her english 11 regents and what comes up as one of the essays?
The students were required to prove why burmese pythons and other species were invasive. I am appalled by the state of New York to put this in a test. I find it absolutely ridiculous that they would put this in after the "science" the USGS presented was awful.

Being the rebel I am, I would have written an article as persuasive as Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal".
It's fun to write a paper arguing a point while simultaneously making the point look ludicrous. Much more fun in terms of a challenge.

Ha, yes. If i was in my girlfriends position I would of been torn. Write one essay and go against everything all of us are trying to work towards or leave it blank, or maybe write why they aren't invasive, and throw in some true science.

Look up the definition of an invasive species. They are indeed an exotic invasive sp. The problem w/ the USGS paper is the potential range of the Burmese Python.

It's possible to do both. Prove why they are invasive in Southern Florida, and no where else.
