    foil tape under flexwatt?

I just made a new rack out of melamine, i grooved out a section for the flexwatt so the tubs dont hit it. Should i put foil tape underneath where the groove/wood part is and then put the flexwatt heat tape ontop of that? opinions and help is greatly appreciated

if i dont put foil tape under the flexwatt and directly on the grooved out wood part. will it give off enough heat to warp or delaminate the melamine?

Its perfectly fine to put the flexwatt directly on the melamine. As far as heat damage goes, there really isnt any concern because the flexwatt must be run on a thermostat / rheostat to control the temperature.
