    Re: "Python" Stakes out ATM

I think the news should be punished for negligence (sp?) with the snake owner. They didnt even know what kind of snake it was! Its obvioulsy a boa!

LOL!!! Yep thats a "Python" alright!! I wonder if anyone sent that news company an email telling them they were wrong.. It is some sort of common Red Tail too. Not a Hogg Island. Wow, not even close.. These are true Hogg Islands..

    You guys are too critical.

Does it really matter whether or not the media gets whether or not its a boa or python?

In my opinion, Yes.. Because everytime the media messes up & labels something wrong like that, it fuels the fire for all these python ban bills that keep popping up. More will come too. I think i called & faxed letters to at least 20 different numbers, 3 days in a row. Just doing my part for our reptile community. Even something as simple as a media reporter mis-labeling a snake can add to the fire. Thus creating more & more fights we have to put up just to stop it.

The key is education. Reporters like this are adding to the ignorance of the people trying to take our pets away from us.

lol i dont think were being too critical. were poking fun at the lack of knowledge about our favorite pets that causes many people, including the government, to get confused, and then fearful.

You are 100% correct. I go through this with our pitbulls. The media think anything with a big head or with stripes is a APBT. Our dogs are in the same boat as the burmese. Everyone wants to ban and punish our breed of dogs because of all the Mutts out there that are running loose and biting people.

I wanted to send this news company a email but i cant seem to find the link to contact them
