My new tree frog is odd!

The petstore I got my new tree frog had them kept properly and they all were a nice green color other then this one he was gray in the store and due to the ride home has changed to tan. It feeds well so i'm sure I's not sick. I did get a large green on like I wanted. The green one is really nuts( I forgot to take pics of him before I put him in his tank with tons of greenary! Were were talking about which frog I should get and when I just finished saying the big one it jumped on my nose so I had to get him

I don't know much about frogs, but many herps experience color changes for various reasons.

Could he be having a color change due to going into shed?

IDK but he should be green though as he's a green tree frog if it wasn't for his eye's I'd think he was albino.

Strange but pretty. I do know there are at least 3 color morphs with Red Eyes. There is the Black, Albino & Xanthic (may be more but those are the ones I know of) but yours doesn't really look like one of those. Are the eyes black or what color?

Huh, I have no idea then. The Black one has blackish eyes, the albino has red and the xanthic has silver.

Very cool! We have green tree frogs around our area and they seem to turn that color for some reason. We had two that would always hang out around the front door and one day one of them was brown.....no clue

Green tree frogs have the ability to turn brown when they are on darker colored objects, much like a Grey tree frog. From experience I believe that light levels also affect their coloration.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, as long as he's (or she's) eating. :]
