FL: Everglades Field Herping, April 11th

Finalized date from this thread. I may go on Sunday the 12th as well if enough people show interest.

We can meet at a designated spot around 730AM. Plan to be out all day, and not returning home until late afternoon. You can head out earlier if you did not carpool with anyone, I'll tell you how to leave from any of the parks we visit.

We will probably hit Big Cypress and Fakahatchee, which are out west - the Big Cypress ranger station is halfway between Miami and Naples, and Fakahatchee is near the intersection of SR29 and HWY 41 (Tamiami Trail), probably another 30-45 minutes from Big Cypress.

Snake hook, or walking stick, and "snakeproof" boots required! You might also want sunscreen, and bug repellent. There are no real concessions out there, so water or other refreshments for yourself will be another must-have.

Please reply here or PM me if you are planning on going!

Off we go, in the morn

All my gear's just about ready to go. I'll post back with whatever we find. The weather's been good and dry, so that should make for optimal conditions.

Then I'll post about the next outing.
