Cleo the SD Retic updated pics & some older.

She is going on 5 years old and still only 6ft. Pretty as ever, and feisty too!

First I want to show you what she does when I put her in the tub for cage cleaning... Shower doors were closed but she still went right up and over. Made herself at home above the window lol! Of course I closed the bathroom door and made sure the toilet seat was down because I knew shed probably be out n about by the time I went to get her.

Then I held her for awhile afterwards and got a few pics..

Then here she was about a year and a half ago...

And this was shortly after I first got her in 09'. She was already a sub-adult when I purchased her.

She is amazing! I've only ever seen pictures of small SD retics and was wondering what they looked like as adults. I wanted one anyway, but I definitely want one now! What size enclosure do you keep her in?

She's in a 2x4 on the bottom. She's got a tremendous feeding response and wants to strike at anything coming in her cage but I use a big hook to pull her forward and then take her out. Once she's out she's only flighty for a minute. I just cover her head and face with a cupped hand and she stops moving so much. I can even sit down with her gathered in my lap and she will just stay there. She's not aggressive at all. I just need to be careful taking her out. The smaller Retic's are known to be more hyper and flighty than the mainlands but they act the same otherwise. I always compare it to the way a large colubrid is. Initially it's like handling a large rat snake or bull snake that isn't use to being handled.
