    First clutch of the year!

Well, I finally had my first clutch of the year drop today. Andromeda is an IJ I produced about 5 years ago that is owned by Caleb Hinojos, a good friend of mine. I have "custody" of her while he is doing his time for the Marines. I bred her to a very nice Spitfire male, Shamino.
This is her first clutch and I am stoked to see what these two lines can produce.
Here she is on the eggs.

    13 nice fluffy eggs!

And here is a pic of Caleb holding her when he was here visiting last year.

Awesome! Is that a large clutch for this species?

13 is a good average. My largest was 16 eggs by her mother. I have heard of larger clutches but 12 - 17 is average.

Congratulations! How do those eggs compare in size to ball python eggs?

The eggs are a bit smaller than ball eggs with the hatchlings weighing about half or less than a hatchling ball.
