I get confused with spotted python vs children's python.. and there is another that looks similar...? Maybe it's the anthill python? Anyone know the differences?
spotted- generally the darkest of the three and the largest too. the cape yorks are very similar to the children's because of the way the spots run together and the less sharp contrast between the spots and the base coloriong.
children's- a little more bland looking in my opinion. generally considered a more rare snake and is priced accordingly. more striped than spotted, although cape yorks look pretty similar.
anthill- the smallest of the three. often more orangish than the other two. have orange colored eyes and i've heard tehy differ in temperament and care as well. the spots/stripes do not stand out nearly as much as with the spotteds or even the children's.
i'm in the middle of searching for a spotted is the only reason i know that
anyone know of a good breeder, particularly near michigan, that sells these??
The spotted and childrens have got my attention a little bit lately and I've dome some researching on them just for the heck of it. I looked at some childrens this last weekend at the Indy show and the breeder had them $100 for a pair. The spotted definately appeal to me more.
You have a lovely addition...if only I wheren't limiting myself to my ball project(s)!
