Pvccages.ca
Oooo first post!
Does anyone have any experience with these cages? It's hard to
find any info on them and reaching out to the company has gotten me nowhere.
Are they of decent quality? How thick is the material used?
Thanks in advance guys and girls!

Not sure if anyone has experience however one of the main concern I would have is that no where do they mention how thick their PVC is, which that can make a huge difference between a good cage and one that is not.

DIY cages are good. I got the 4x2x2 for my boa and with a few adjustments it’s worked great. It was the cheapest enclosure I could find at that size and is actually better than more expensive options out there imo.

Re: Pvccages.ca
Stick with whats proven.
AP. ANIMAL PLASTICS.
Products I use and Recommend:
Enclosures- Animal Plastics: Good things come to those who wait. A 3-4 month wait on these enclosures, but the quality is worth it. Ive tried them all from Boaphile to Vision and there is no comparison:

RHP - Pro Products: is a top of the line Radiant Heat Panel:
http://pro-products.com/pro-heat/
Thermostats - Herpstat is one of the best if not #1 for quality and safety:

Thermometer- Sensor Push. This was a great investment. I do not have the WIFI Gateway station ($99) to monitor while Im away from home, I use them on Bluetooth for phone/Ipad etc..at home monitoring. I have these in all of my enclosures for cool side ambient and humidity monitoring:

Butcher Paper. Zoro has several sizes and great prices. If you want 60lb paper it is Brown. I use 2 sheets of 40lb because I like the white. Easy to see a mess. Best prices are available through Zoro’s ebay , you can also shop on their online store:

Hides- Reptile Basics has the best injection mold quality. They are not sharp or brittle, don’t be fooled by “look alike” PVC Hides:

Feeders- Rodent Pro:

Snake Equiptment- Animal Equipment By StoneyLLC. Best quality I have used:

Re: Pvccages.ca
I’m guessing OP is in Canada based on the inquiry about a Canadian enclosure company. Surely very cost prohibitive to import AP cages

Yes, I'm in canada and importing animal plastics would cost an arm and a leg. I've also heard they can be a bit of a wait as well.
Was just curious if anyone had any insight on them is all.

When it really comes down to it a cage is a box... Just make sure that whatever you go with won’t mold, is strong enough to stack/be sturdy and has good ventilation. Also make sure the material is compatible with the heating elements you’ll be using. Anyone that tells you to go with the most expensive option because “it’s the best” isn’t entirely accurate. A lot of times you’re paying for the brand... you can make it yourself or find another manufacturer for much less. There is no single way to do things in this hobby and it’s annoying when people try to convince others to spend tons of money to do it “the right way”. Like ok we get that you spent an arm and a leg on “top of the line brands”... nobody really cares. Just make sure you get what you need for your animal to be healthy, that’s it. I’m sure there are options in Canada that are perfectly fine for what you need. You DON’T have to get ap cages just because so-and-so uses them. Are they good? Yes. Is it just a pvc box? Also yes.

You could always build your own? By the time I would have added shipping the price is similar. With heat, glass, 2 PVC 4 X 8 sheets, misting system I am probably about $1150 I just priced out the same size AP cage shipped with all the same options and it was $1123 without the cost of the heat panels ($200) and the misting system ($150) and my material is 3/4" so IMHO a little heavier duty. And my glass is tempered bronze tint on rollers not just sliders. On top of that is my Herpstat 6 but I would need that in either case and adds about $500 with humidity probe. I went with the herpstat 6 as I am waiting (did I say waiting!) for a 24" X 24" X 36" tall AP arboreal cage for a not yet purchased Emerald tree Boa. So it will control and monitor both cages for heat and humidity and all lighting on one zone, humidity both cages, 2 heat zones in the big cage and 1 heat zone in the AP cage.

This thread has now been re-opened and the the unnecessary side bickering has been removed.
I will also put it out there that if the bickering starts back custom infractions will be handed out.
The bickering is a distraction for EVERYONE and this is not facbook.
