oh rats!
how's it going, I've got a sm. rat that one of my snakes wouldn't kill so I'm trying to save it for maybe a week tops and feed it to one of my piggies. I've got it in a 30g. tank but I'm not interested in breeding rats right at this time so I don't have a water bottle or food so how can I keep this girl healthy and happy for a week? Thanks.

Re: oh rats!
Just put a small water dish in with a few drops of vanilla (for urine smell) and some food
Check out what's available at

Re: oh rats!
Well, since I don't think you want to go out and buy a bag of rat food, rats will eat pretty much anything a human will. Most table scraps will do. You'd have to be more careful if you were feeding long term, since alot of our foods can be quite fatty, but for a week it should be fine!

Re: oh rats!
Whole grain cereals, mix with dry dog food and a bit of some pasta. That will work for the very short term.
