Yesterday In Colorado, Someone Broke into a Petsmart and stole... snakes?

Yeah. I couldn't find the article, but i saw it on the news yesterday and it was really interesting.

Anyway, 2 people smashed the front windows of a petsmart yesterday during it's closed hours. The two masked men stole a large array of snakes, including 2 ball pythons. I think they stole a total of 5 or 6 snakes. They dropped one (a corn snake, if I remember correctly) in the parking lot and it died, but they got away with the others. From what I've heard they haven't been caught yet.

Anyway, what do you think of this?

I think it's pretty horrible, and i really hope they know what they're doing heath-wise. I hope the snakes will make it okay... They could probably sell them for about $100 if they found a uneducated buyer not knowing what they're actually worth.

i dont condone theft at all, but sad thing is they probably were doing the snakes a favour... (except for that poor corn)

Thats actually one of the first thoughts that came in my head, too. I'm not too fond of the way petsmart treats their animals..

Funny that these people would take the risk to steal snakes from a brick and mortar store when there are plenty to be found for free. A lot less risk in flipping give away snakes than stolen snakes...guess you never know about people.

I go there once in a while when I don't have time to drive all the way up to the local pet store to get rats, and once I saw about 10 birds crammed into the same cage, and it didn't look like it had been cleaned for a while. It's really sad seeing the boards there. They're so anti-social and terrified of humans.

Greenpeace maybe, PETA would just throw tomato juce against the store windows and wave their signs. PETA's all talk and self promotion. Greenpeace, at least will go get into an actual fight! I don't always agree with everything Greenpeace does, but I do respect the fact that they will put their own rear ends in the line of fire.

Profit may not be the motive. They might be PETA minded revolutionaries.

Well, they dropped one in the parking lot and left it there, so they kind of failed.
