    Important Question... Worried

I ordered a snake from JnJ reptiles, a young ball python who was supposed to arrive on Monday but didn't due to weather. Now he is scheduled to arrive tomorrow... but when?

I asked them multiple times but they always kind of danced around the question and never told me what time he would arrive at my house.

I have a busy schedule (I DID NOT on monday but since they canceled the order now I have to really make sure I am home on time). I really want to be home when the snake arrives because I don't want him to freeze to death on my door step!

Now it is late and they did not reply to my email asking when it will arrive and I am assuming they went home so they won't be answering it.

To those who have ordered reptiles before: Anyone know when it should arrive?

Please reply ASAP so I should know if I should skip going to my classes tomorrow or not.

I live in WA state and I believe JnJ reptiles is somewhere on the east coast. They said they mailed the snake this evening.
    Thank you!

Typically they're supposed to arrive before 10:00am. That's the delivery schedule usually used by trustworthy shippers. That being said, the shipper has no control over FedEx's actual schedule for the day, and that may be why they are reluctant to give you an exact time. I've had many shipments (not necessarily animals) that were supposed to arrive before 10:00am, but did not until sometime well after noon.

Ok, that sounds great for me. I leave the house around 10, so if the little guy is not here by then, I'll just stay home.

    Phew, thank you very much!

    Re: Important Question... Worried

I just looked at their site. They ship Monday-Wednesday by Fed EX overnight. So yes you "should" have it by 10:00 am. They guarantee live arrival plus another 48 hours as long as someone is there to receive the package.

    Re: Important Question... Worried

You could call fed-ex and find out where their hub is, or track your package, I bought a snake once that didn't go when it was supposed to, it was delayed a day, and it was supposed to arrive by 10:30, it didn't, the seller didn't do the 10:30a delivery guarantee , and to make matters worse if I wasn't home the fedex guy would have left it at the door.

I would call and make sure the snake was sent out, that will give you a better idea on when it will be delivered

    Good Luck

    Re: Important Question... Worried

Leave a note on your door (just to be on the safe side) that says something like:

FEDEX DO NOT LEAVE MY PACKAGE AT THE DOOR, PLEASE KNOCK OR RING THE BELL REPEATEDLY, THANK YOU

It doesn't happen often but it's happened enough times that I never trust a delivery guy to not dump a package at my door.

Next time you order a snake online, insist that the shipper/seller email you the tracking number so you can track the package yourself through the FedEx site. I know that a lot of breeders do this and it can be done automatically when the package is input into FedEx. Anytime I've order from Adam at 8Ball for instance I get an automatic notification of the tracking number so I can watch it myself as it travels along.
