How much should a normal BP female go for??

    Hey everyone,

so this is a pretty simple question that has probably been asked already, but I just couldnt track down the thread.

So, as the title says, how much would a young female NORMAL ball python go for? breeder prices? show prices? pet store prices?

    thanks
    Jamie (jrosen123)

I bought my C.B for male for $75 females are $100 and the other store in town sells them for $200! On line I see them mostly for $75-$100 .BHB sells them for $60.

If you could find a female in a pet store, the price would be $75-$100.

I've seen them at shows for $40.

I just bought a beautiful one from 8 Ball Pythons for $50.

I bought my 3ft long bp from a pet store for $89. Another store in town has one that is about 4ft for $149. I saw them at a reptile show this past weekend for $50.

At a pet store you're prob looking at 80-120. If you wait for a show its around 30-50. I seen some for 45 at the whiteplanes show last month.

Re: How much should a normal BP female go for??

I have seen Captive Bred normal BPs for as little as $15 when buying a single one, less if buying multiples. This was at a reptile show. They were unsexed, but the seller was willing to sex them for you so you knew you got the sex you wanted.

More typical reptile show prices around here are $20-40 for normals. Pet stores charge way more than that.

Re: How much should a normal BP female go for??

Can someone explain to my why females are usually more expensive than males? Maybe there's an obvious answer I'm too dumb to figure out, but..

Females are more expensive only due to breeding...

You can use a lot more females for one male than the other way around.
