My freak out of the month
Ok so the kids are not home, its only me and my husband. Both of us are sitting in our room, both on our own computers. So out in the livingroom there is this sound like something fell off a shelf.
We thought noting of it the first time we heard it, we listened for a moment and all was quiet, maby the downstairs people hit the celing with something and shook our floor (this happens all the time)
We both went back to our computers, and after a while we heard my husband's guitar fall over, so we went out to see what was going on, my husband went to the kitchen, I went to the snakes
After looking around for a few min, i see this head poking out from the entertainment stand. It was one of the big gravid girls. She had lifted the tub on top of hers squeezed out of hears, slithered accross the table over to a shelf, knocking down a candleholder, and tried to slither down the guitar, and knocked it down and she landed on the bottom shelf of the entertainment center.
Of couse In the heat of the moment I forgot to grab the camera, so sorry no pics of the escapeing wonder.
P.S. her tub, and the other big girl's tub sit on top of each other with bungii cords to keep them closed, I added 2 more cords

you are so very very very lucky you were able to hear her escape. that could have been a bad situation, but then again she would probably have been found somewhere warm nesting.

Re: My freak out of the month
I'm glad we found her, would have been odd to have little snakes slithering around the house in a couple months. Of course then I wouldn't have to worry about rodents escapeing.
I hope she lays soon, I hope 4 cords holding the 2 tubs closed will be enouph, that was all I had When the QT time is up I am building a rack for everyone, with bars on the front to hold the little buggers in
as far a warm nesting place, the best place in the room she is in would be under the entertainment center, there is a gap, perfect for a BP. and it is toasty in there, we have wall unit heaters, and there is one on either side of the tv stand. So we would have found her, as long as she didn't get behind the stove, back there is a big hole in the wall, and she could have gone between the 4 apts.

Re: My freak out of the month
Today, my thermostat got messed up and a tub melted! I smelled it just in time and turned it off and got the snake out of there. That was my freak out moment.

I keep (4) 5lb weights on top of my QT tubs, my nerves couldn't handle an escapee

Re: My freak out of the month
i stopped using bungee cords for the same reason, the problem with them is they stretch so they arn't as tight as a weight or not as efficient as locks but i think its good you doubled up on them . . . . im glad you found her and great story!!
Cheers!

Lol, that's funny but definetely scary. It's always fun to see them peeking with their head cause they know they've been spotted. Good thing you found her and thanks for sharing
